Regina's latest shorebird: The Robin

Waiting for Worms on Wascana © SB

Red-breasted worm-seekers are the latest shorebirds along the banks of the flooded Wascana. Robins strut in soft mud, run through shallow water, dart and dig.

Do robins peck the ground on spec, or can they hear the sloosh of bugs and worms moving from the new river bed, up for air through the ooze along the shore?

Birders? Anyone?
